How it all started…

Australian Skin Cancer Foundation started December 2021 with just a marquee, a few teardrop flags, 3 board members, a few volunteers at Bondi Beach, and a thousand ideas!

Our drive to start the foundation was because of the lack of support for patients across Australia. They needed a voice and we wanted to be it! Australia is #1, along with New Zealand, for melanoma diagnosis, and yet the most popular thing to do on a hot summer day is to get a tan. We knew we needed to change this culture and we decided to do it with our 4 pillars – Advocacy, Education, Research and Support.
